A Message From Dr. Michael Eskridge
EIS Principal

June 21, 2010

Dear East Iberville School Parents and Students:

Welcome to a new school year. Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 11, 2010. A new year is always exciting. Our focus will be on providing each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience. Academic emphasis on the core content areas of reading, language arts, science, social studies, and math will remain a priority as well as providing a learning program that builds on each year to reach local and state standards. Instruction in business, foreign language, technology, and physical education complete our program providing each student with the opportunity to develop areas of interest and skill.

As we begin this year, please remember that this is your school and we welcome your involvement. To increase communication between home and school, all students will receive a student planner free of charge. The planner is good for the entire year and serves as a link between home and school. Additional communication networks will be established to keep you up to date about what is happening at East Iberville.

The beginning of the school year is just around the corner. 6th grade students, other new students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend a school orientation on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at 6:00pm. This activity will be held in the cafeteria. Parents will have the opportunity to meet 6th grade teachers, guidance counselors, and other East Iberville staff. Parents may also purchase PE uniforms at that time. An Open House for all East Iberville students (Pre-K-12) will occur on Wednesday, August 4th, 2010 at 6:00 PM.. This activity will be held in the high school gym. Parents will have the opportunity to meet their child’s teachers, guidance counselors, and other East Iberville staff. Parents may also purchase PE uniforms at that time.

On the first day, all Pre-K – 5th students will report to the elementary gymnasium when they enter school and all 6th – 12th grade students will report to the high school gymnasium. I encourage you to join us at school activities establishing strong foundations and being positive role models for your children.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call. I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the school year to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student success.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael Eskridge, Principal
